Eid Al Adha holidays

Dubai: The UAE Cabinet has approved a seven-day holiday for the public sector to mark Eid Al Adha, from Sunday, October 13, to Saturday, October 19. Work will resume on Sunday, October 20.

The private sector will get Eid holidays for three days, from Monday, October 14, to Wednesday, October 16, the Labour Ministry announced on Sunday.

The Eid Al Adha holidays were approved during the Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in the presence of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and Lieutenant General Shaikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.

According to a circular issued by Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Education, the public sector will get an extended holiday from Friday, October 11 to Saturday, October 19, and resume work on Sunday, October 20.According to a circular issued by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, private sector companies will remain closed from October 14-16.
